Cool. Voltaire, one of my favourite silly music performers, rather than the more-commonly recognised philosopher by the same name, is sounding out the possibility of doing some Australian concerts in Melbourne and Sydney in August. Could be interesting, although I don't really know if it will be doable. At least it's more doable than the Worldcon for me.

Thank you. I'm not sure I want to hunt in orchestras, though - the risk of having the entire herd stampede is too great. Smaller groups, and watering holes where solitary string-players are known to turn up with their instruments on the right occasion, seem a far better prospect... *grin*

Yeah, the Christian rock site and its friends are their own can of worms, which I should probably write about at some point...

And I know the feeling. Here's hoping that the forewarning helps?

Personally I've always found it easier to cut the cellist out of the larger herds than the smaller four or five player mated groupings. And have had little success with solitary cellists (although a cellist is never really ever considered a solitary animal).

And why would I do that? Well it was a maxim of my life (at least my early life), that all cellists are cute. Even if they are dwarf male bikers. That's why it's a maxim.

On the other hand, viola players are usually so happy that you recognise the differences between them and the violinists (their instrument burns longer), that they will often follow you like happy puppy-dogs.
