I have to admit I really enjoyed Sleepless Nights, even though I probably shouldn't have, as most of the dialogue cuts far too close to the bone in my case. <sigh> It was part of the Short & Sweet 10 minute play festival held in Melbourne last year (and actually took the prize for Best Overall Performance). Sometimes I really miss good theatre. |

Date: 2007-07-22 05:43 am (UTC)It is said that their are two types of beginning actor. The first, is marked off in six foot lengths and sawed. The second is lightly glazed and sliced thin. Whilst, eventually, with the dint of much sandpaper and varnish, it is possible to produce a polished work of art out of the first, sadly the only recourse for the second is to devour it between two pieces of bread and with a slice of cheese.
And a pickle.
The pickle (as previously mentioned) is vitally important.

Date: 2007-07-22 05:56 am (UTC)the best part was being the guy needed in the girls changing rooms during productions. to hold broken outfits together while repairs were made. and to remind divas which things they were supposed to have in their hands next.
i am told i could have made an excellent actor of the method kind. apart from the stage-fright, and the line-forgetting and the preferring to work on the girls than to work with them. or some such.
pickles can be good. or not. i prefer the good ones.
