I just received a copy of the new Usagi Yojimbo RPG and Albedo: Platinum Catalyst from Sanguine Productions today, only to get a pleasant surprise. They sent me some bonus stuff with it, including a slightly worn additional copy of the UY rules. Gratis.

Yay for Sanguine! Now I'll have to find it a good home. And I think I know just where.

For those that don't know, Sanguine Productions produces some excellent Furry role-playing games, such as Ironclaw and Jadeclaw. I liked the system so much that I adopted it for my Runequest/Heroquest campaign. Although this is not to denigrate the world, which is excellent in and of itself. For those interested there is an amusing webcomic based on an Ironclaw campaign. [At least I found it amusing, but I understand the references.]

Ironclaw is much fun, though some of the mechanics (particularly the magical system rules) get a bit sticky on occasion. We've got the Eastern counterpart, but haven't yet had a chance to play in it. I hadn't been aware of the comic's existence, either; looking forward to reading it at some point.

I still don't want to know where the cheese comes from in that world, though.

After recognising the face in your icon and pottering through your journal, I've determined that you are, in fact, who my brain told me you are and I should therefore say hi. I be Nicole (you know, Anne's pesky friend from Adelaide). ;)

I'm unsure whether or not to be surprised that I came across you in [livejournal.com profile] reverancepavane's LJ or not...

Oh, gods. And another circle closes.

This is a pleasant surprise - I am indeed me, and pleased that you ventured to introduce yourself, since I'd not have been able to pick you from either your icons or your info. I'm not used to friends from that particular circle turning up on LJ, but it's good to see you here. I trust you enjoyed the rest of your time in Melbourne?

And for the record, I've not actually had the pleasure of meeting our mutual friend here, but I guess it's not that surprising that you know one another. After all, it only stands to reason that all the cool people move in the same crowd in a town that small... *grins, ducks, and runs from Ian's wrath*

I use the Ironclaw/Jadeclaw system at the moment for running a non-anthro campaign at the moment. I'm not sure if I like all the changes telegraphed in the Usagi Yojimbo RPG for Ironclaw V2.0, although I do like the new system for overwhelming success and failure.

And the only problem I've had with the magic system has been the excessive misprints in Jadeclaw. <grin>. What have you encountered that has been problematic?
