Off to see Zeptepi, Melbourne's "Post-Apocalyptic Folk Rock Band," tonight (9pm) at The Wheatie. Accompanied by Brillig, Adelaide's "We Prefer Our Deaths Individually Hand Crafted" Band. If anyone else is interested, feel free to drop by. It's free!

Date: 2012-01-28 03:16 pm (UTC)Brillig was OK. Some new songs. Although the change in temperature triggerered sleepy-time in me.
Zeptepi was very high energy folk rock (with an emphasis towards the rock but played on folk [as opposed to, say, Claymore, which is Scottish Folk and ACDC played as Rock]) and the were jumping around the stage a lot. Great for dancing to methinks, but I didn't bother (the Wheatie not being a very danceable club and you need a critical mass which wasn't there). Got their albums though and do want to see them again.
[I think I knew Hayley the violinist from somewhere, but couldn't remember where (it wasn't with Zeptepi). Brilliant violinist, and (<ahem>) rather attractive,* so I have an excuse for why I remember her, but not for forgetting where. Similarly amused by some of the young girls at an adjacent table were visibly (and audibly) lusting after the bass player (who had that only too cool anime vibe about him). I admit to being a shallow person.]
Brillig will be doing part of SCALA on Thursday night 8pm ($5) at Higher Ground. I may be there.
[* OK, I lied. "Extremely attractive" is more appropriate surface descriptor. Or in less refined circles, "wowser," "I think I stepped on my tongue" and "cartoony projecting eyeballs and steam coming out the ears," and "she's not evil, she's just drawn that way." Actually see seems (at very brief acquaintance) a rather nice and fun person, but saying that would not doubt polish my reputation ever so slightly, so I won't.]
