My first official Fringe show was Last Bucket of Water by the The Hounds of the Baskervilles. Now I really enjoyed their performance piece last Fringe (Every Film Ever Made [and they did an incredible job at attempting to satisfy the show title]), and was looking forward to this one, and I wasn't disappointed.

The setting is a near apocalyptic future, and Adam, Rob, and Tegan, as part of the Dharma and Greg Initiative, are sent to guard the last bucket of water in existence. Can three comedians from Melbourne be trusted with this vital task? Can we put the safety of life on earth in their hands? The fate of humankind? The last precious drops of water?

In a word: no.

Or rather: Hell NO!

Much slapstick and comedy ensues as each falls for the temptations offered by the last bucket of water, and it will all have you laughing maniacly. This show not only breaks down the fourth wall but leaves it in tatters, or at least it was the case in our performance. Then again, it was a preview performance and they probably still need to get some of the remaining kinks* out (I believe there was a technical failure with the bucket,** for example). Be warned, the front row may get accidentally splashed, as they say at Seaworld, but that's part of the fun.

* Although Adam's kinks were indeed an excellent part of the show.

** How can you have a technical failure with a bucket. Well, see the show and find out.
