I have to admit I really enjoyed the latest episode (4) of Being Human. I think having to tell a complete story in only six episodes really means that you have to tighten things up and get a move on.

Similarly I thoroughly enjoyed the revelations of the latest episode (No Exit)of Battlestar Galactica. It will be interesting to see how the whole conundrum is resolved, but it is a fitting moral dilemma for the entire series.

On the other hand I felt that only the title and very first scene/flashback of the first episode of Dollhouse really had any trace of what Joss was intending for the series.* Apparently the first four or so episodes are "scene-setting" episodes, which may well be a mistake. It probably would be better if the glitch that wakes Echo occurs at the beginning, as in My Own Worst Enemy. It doesn't have the moral dimension (or comparative lack of it) of La Femme Nikita either, which is the closest the vanilla plot comes to. And if the lead character keeps getting scrubbed, it will never develop it. Still, we'll see what happens.

And I have to admit that I seriously enjoyed the recent Unnatural Love episode of Flight of the Conchords. "Like our accent, only eviler." "[Your children will be] forced to wander from city to city looking for the perfect wave." <tee hee>

* Although I could be wrong. I must never play Joss Bingo with [livejournal.com profile] dalmeny after her ability to spot the Jossisms in the first episode of Dollhouse.
