the end of days is upon us
May. 19th, 2005 04:01 pm| Hmmmm. Unsubstantiated reports have it that Schweppes [1] may have replaced some of the sugar in their Tarax Creamy Soda with Nutrasweet, resulting in what was one of the best drinks in the world becoming decidedly sub-par. This, together with pressure from Schweppes in support of it's own brand of Traditional Creamy Soda rather than the true-blue Australian one has resulted in it's disappearance from many Adelaide shops. True creamy soda drinkers should be outraged! Bring back original recipe Tarax Creamy Soda [1] Cadbury-Schweppes bought out Tarax in 1972. |

Then again, Tarax used to be available in Melbourne at Coles and sometimes other supermarkets, even in 2l bottles (don't drop 'em !), but in the last year or two that we were there, they stopped stocking them. *sigh*
I haven't seen anything like it over here. As slight compensation, it is a little easier to find a decent soft-drink ginger beer (as opposed to brewed varieties, which I haven't see over here yet ... ).
And finally, of course, we have Irn Bru :)
