do the chicken dance
Dec. 20th, 2008 02:29 amWent to see the last Cock-Eyed Molly gig for the year at the Brecknock, even though it probably would have been more sensible to stay home. But this is me we are talking about. Anyway, it was the last of their gigs for some time, and probably the last gig with the current line up. In both cases this is so the band can concentrate on their alter-ego, Spiral Dance. As Spiral Dance they are planning to have a new CD out by the Australian Wiccan Conference next year (early September 2009), as well as their combination song and recipe book. After that they may again tour overseas. In the meantime plans are going full speed ahead for the English Ale in May, the Winter Solstice Feast in June, and the Revenge of the Faeries Ball in December. It looks like the last one is now the traditional Summer Solstice event. They are having a Hawaiian themed gig at the Brecknock on January 10th as well (although I'm not sure whether that was as Spiral or Molly to be honest). Anyway I've been told grass skirts and coconut bras are compulsory. Dunno what the women will be wearing though... Those who failed to attend tonight should be thankful, as apparently I was the only one who made their saving throw against the Chicken Dance but that's only because after previous exposure to Isaac Azathoth (the SF author that gibbers and shrieks at the heart of the universe), very little can disturb me. Of course, I doubt either the Necronomicon or Miss Manners Etiquette Guide has much to say on inebriated women humping the foldback speaker, so we'll leave it at that. |
