moments in reflected time
Sep. 12th, 2008 06:14 am[1] I have to admit that I am really liking Everything Comes From You by Joji Hirota and Sinead O’Connor. It's an intricately arranged piece with overlapping themes and chants, satisfying my fascination with musical complexity. You can find it on Peter Gabriel's latest CD: Big Blue Ball. Although considering that this album was initially recorded over a decade ago, new is a somewhat relative term. Although I suspect if I have it on continual play for much longer my neighbours will be less than impressed (I've clocked their limit to about two hours straight of the same song); we'll see in another couple of days. [2] Saddened to hear that [Actually spent some time reaquainting myself with some of the older pieces, just to read the new flavour text.] [3] Was quite amused that [Work-safe(r) link here.] Must find someone able to help me with putting together Klaus. [4] I don't seem to be getting the hang of Thursdays at the moment. I keep missing them, which is bad enough in itself, but it's also making me extremely reluctant to plan anything for the weekends. We'll see. [5] On the health front, the good news is that my blood pressure is back down to human-tolerable levels, which suggests that the Plaquenil was interfering with the effects of the anti-hypertensives (now that I'm off the Plaquenil and back on the SAN-destroying drug instead). Having an Arava-inspired resting blood pressure of 190/160 whilst on the maximum non-hospital dose of anti-hypertensives is not reassuring for the continued structural integrity of my circulatory system. Although I've only had one bad trip with the SAN-destroyer so far, so hopefully the lower dose will work. [Until I took this drug I had no true appreciation of the effect of the Cthulhu Mythos on the fragile human mind. Truly they are the stuff of "plutonium of the mind."] |
