of tooth and claw and fairy dust
Feb. 9th, 2006 05:47 pmI'm quite enjoying the show Hex at the moment, in particular the way Thelma keeps getting done over in her dealings with the Nephilim. Especially with the recent [to us in Oz] introduction of Maya. It would be interesting to see if them do a Simon Green story (I shudder upon hearing that his Tales of the Nightside has been optioned to Hollywood; I don't think the Americans can embrace such an archetypically British occulty story). One thing I particularly enjoyed in Hex was the portrayal of Nurse Petrie (see icon) by Katrine de Candole. I think the reason why I found her rather intriguing was the body language she used in her portrayal reminded me of the body language of my closest friends when I was growing up. [1] It was interesting to later discover that she prepared for her role by watching the velociraptors in Jurassic Park. On thinking about it a bit, it explains a lot about the people I grew up with... [1] And not just because she is quite cute in a nurses uniform... <grin> |
