over the tattered edge

It's the Adelaide Fringe again. Scarcely seems two years since the last one ... oh that's right, it's not. Converting the Fringe to an annual event would seem to explain that uncharacteristic lack of enthusiasm that seems to abound. Or maybe it's because all the literati are currently involved with the Adelaide Film Festival and haven't had time to switch to Fringe Mode. Either that or the V8 supercar street rally. Anyway it's time to see if anyone else is interested in seeing stuff at the same time as me. These are what currently tempt me:

Corinne Grant - Have My Stuff
7 March

Dave Bloustien: Beastly
20-25, 27-31 March

Moran - Dylan Moran
29 March

Rod Quantock - Hand in Bloody Hand: The John & Janette Story
9 March

Tripod - How To Train An Attack Dog From Scratch
16-18 March

On the less enthused by still doable track:

Adam Hills: Joymonger
23-24 March

Andrew Mclelland's Mix Tape
2-4 March

Art-Capella (Heaven Knows A Capella)
10,16,22,25 March

Rockwiz - Live on Tour
15-16 March

Interrobang (Unstoppable Huxtable)
8 March

If there is anything other people are interested in seeing and where they don't mind company, leave a comment.

Yes, Fringe is good. I still haven't yet worked out what I will be able to see or when.... but borrowing from your list, may I join you for:
- Dave Bloustein
- Dylan Moran (pricey, I know, but I'm sure he's worth it) - please book for me if you haven't alread made your own booking!

Most of what I can do is on the March long weekend (which doesn't match your dates for the above two) but I suspect for those I may just see who's around and see what they're going to see.

Oh good it's not just me who thinks the timing is insane. Why oh why oh why does Adelaide have to have EVERYTHING on ALL AT ONCE and then nothing nothing nothing.. hello there are twelve months in the year no really you could space tings out and get mroe people to each individual event WILD idea...

If I could afford it I'd offer to go see Corinne with you. But hey instead I get Newcomer's, Games day and WOMAD all on the same weekend. Yeah. Clever timing there.

Heya,

Just wondering if you have any wonderful contacts who might be able to get a ticket to Dylan Moran for me...lol, don't want another Elton John incident...

Cheers if you can help me dear,
Hope you are well.

I'm afraid even I can't get tickets to see Dylan Moran. It sold out some time ago.

PS: I'm afraid my acts of gratuitous major gift-giving are just that. Gratuitous. Dropping hints and requests makes it far more unlikely that one will benefit from my largesse. Just a friendly note.

I didn't mean to get for free...I was just wondering if you knew anyone who was able to obtain one that I could purchase, that was all...I wasn't trying to suggest you obtain it out of your own pocket...sorry for the misunderstanding.

I may have had a better chance last year, not that I've ever really tried leaning on my Arts sources for that sort of thing. With this committee, probably not, especially since the one's I do know also know that I thought making the Fringe an annual event was IMNSHO really quite silly.

Then again, I feel that they messed up with making Womadelaide annual too.

No worries. Glad you understand. See you soon.

And the total number of Fringe shows attended: Zero. Zilch. Nada.

So much for good (or at least moderately non-evil) intentions.
