But could I have convinced you to dance like a mad dancey thing? That is the question. <grin>
[And then you wouldn't have discovered the one decent Tex-Mex place in South Australia, so it's good that things turned out as it did.]
Still you probably would have liked Leigh Stardust (it's hard to dislike her live performances). Don't really know about Dandelion Wine as they can be an acquired taste, especially with the early stuff (which you can't listen to too rigidly or you will fail to contemplate the underlying structure). Although the later stuff brings a tighter and denser structure to the surface in much more of a classical, albeit more oriental (the East, rather than Far East) world music sort of way. While I like a lot of their early stuff, they have matured excellently as a band (Nick and Naomi are of course eternally young, in heart, if nothing else <grin>).]
There was good company at that gig and ended up staying late chatting not only to the performers, but also their label-mates, friends, and partners (otherwise known as Brillig).
Possibly Probably too long. But "People, Mr Frodo. People!" <sigh>
Oh well. Cabin in the Woods tonight with even more new people I have yet to befriend!
[I'm sure I'm part Golden Retriever. And I even have the cold nose (at the moment) to prove it!]
[Brillig are promising a lot of new songs at their show at The Wheatie on Friday July 13 (they've been busy writing over the last few months), although Matt may not wear his "purdy hat" as it may add too much of a Western feel. But they haven't stinted on the death. Although each death is individually hand-crafted, rather than mass-produced. And then there is the Spiral Dance new CD lauch on Sunday July 15 at the same venue. Although that is a $15 gig that gets you a free CD (so it's really a -$5 gig for the Spiral Dance fans). And don't forget Kate Miller-Heidke at The Gov in August - her shows are good (tickets only from MoshTIX as VenueTIX has sold out).]
